This option is located in the scheduling form. For more information on scheduling, visit the page on Scheduling a Meeting. When this option is enabled, participants will only be able to join the meeting if they are logged in to Zoom with their Tufts credentials. If they are not already logged in with their Tufts credentials, they will be required to do so. Directions are included below for how to complete the authentication process. To make sure this happens, it is recommended that you join meetings as described below.

If you are faculty member and you are joining a Zoom meeting that you scheduled through Canvas, you can also join the meeting via Canvas. Follow these directions if you are the person who scheduled the meeting or if someone with scheduling permissions scheduled the meeting for you. Note: If someone with scheduling permissions scheduled the meeting on your behalf, you likely also received an email notification from Zoom with a link to the meeting. Clicking on that link will bring you into the meeting with the appropriate Host role as well.

Follow these directions if someone else scheduled the Zoom meeting and listed you as an Alternative Host. If someone listed you as an Alternative Host for a meeting, you likely received an email notification from Zoom with a link to the meeting. If you are provided with a link to a Zoom meeting, you can simply click on it when it is time to join. Note: A Zoom account is not required to join a meeting this way.

Anyone can join. This is useful if you are meeting with people outside of Tufts who don't have accounts. Maybe you don't need the video portion of a meeting or you are unable to join on a computer. If either the speakers or the mic are not working, you may need to change the source of the sound.

You can do this by changing the selection on the drop-down menus to the right of each. If you have not tried using a headset with a mic yet, try connecting one to your computer and running the test again. Some computers have built-in microphones, but many do not. Once the host has allowed participants into the meeting you will see a window similar to the next image.

Red Arrow: You may be automatically muted upon entering a meeting. If your mic has a red line through it, then you are muted. If not, click on the mic and it will mute. Likewise, click on the mic again to unmute. It is good Zoom etiquette to keep yourself muted unless you are the one speaking. Blue Arrow: Like the mic, your video may be automatically turned off.

You can control it my clicking on the camera icon. If your video is on, participants will be able to see whatever is in the view of your computer camera. Green Arrow: This allows you to see how many people are participating in the meeting. By clicking on the icon, a side bar will open with the names of all participants.

Grey Arrow: Zoom allows participants to share content to the meeting window. If the host allows, participants can click this icon and then choose what files from their computer to share. White Arrow: Depending on the host settings, you may find an option to record the meeting to your computer. Click this one and you are done! In addition to the meeting ID, the passcode must be entered before a participant can join a meeting. A passcode can be automatically created and added to your meetings when you schedule in Zoom, or you can designate a passcode to use with your Personal Meeting ID.

To use meeting passcodes, you must enabled the feature in your Zoom settings. A passcode and the Waiting Room feature may be used together or separately but one must be enabled for every meeting. To add a passcode to a previously-scheduled meeting, locate the meeting in your Zoom desktop application or in your Zoom web portal:.

Your meeting invitation will include the passcode.
